i aspire to be an artist, what does that even mean

For my Aesthetic Eduction I am going to explore the beauty world of photography. I have always wanted to try it out and was rather disappointed to find out that there was no room in my program to take a photography class, but heres my chance! For the month of February i plan to take at least one picture a day. By doing this I hope to really understand photography, rather then simply snapping a picture at something i think looks cool. I want to be able to play with exposure, and color tones, and angles, and figure out what really works for me. It's so easy to just take a good picture, but i want to know what makes a photo good. Whats the different between taking a picture and taking an artisitc photograph?! Who decides when a picture is artistic and beautiful? I want to be artistic but what that even mean?! Is it a state of mind or is it the result of my effort?

My dad is an artist and an amazing photography. He is where i get most of my inspiration from. He takes amazing pictures and then creates beautiful paintings from them. I WISH!!! I am hoping that this little photography binge will challenge me to live up to my incredible father!

I want to be able to capture light like this. Photo from my sister's wedding taken by my Dad.(right)

i am a girl, i am not a dancer

I grew up in Battleford, and in elementary school I was one of the only girls who was not in dance. I was in judo. I have been in judo since i was just a little tyke, about four years old. I was always proud to be a judoka, but always felt left out when the girls talked about their experiences in dance class the night before. I used to wish I could one day join in on their conversations, but that never did happen.

When I recently went home for the weekend, my dream finally came try. My feet virgin to dance shoes found their way to a pair of point shoes. I was dancing around my kitchen living the dream of a dancer! It took me 24 seconds to realize why my mother never put me in dance. My feet killed! They hurt so bad as I clunked around the kitchen entertaining my mother and a friend as they hysterically laughed at me! I was not as graceful as I am on the judo mats.
Me trying to be a dancer @ home

I guess I learned that everyone has their calling, even if it is the opposite of everyone else. I am glad I am not a dancer, I am proudly a judoka!

This is my lovely iGoogle home page it's early stages. I have put on the required widgets of google reader and delicious. I also stuck my Gmail and Hotmail up there for easy access in the future. It will be nice to have one page to go instead of a zillion. I also put up a Facebook widget because yes, i am a guilty addict of facebook. I also put up fun little widgets like a calender and a clock, just to keep me on track. The countdown I started is for my trip to Vancouver, which as you can see is in 22 days and needless to say I am VERY excited for it! Now I will have a visual reminder everyday of how close it is which is pretty cool. I stuck YouTube up there because I tend to use yourtube to look up the random thing or two. Also the weather for Regina and North Battleford, my home town! Yeyeah, proud to be a Battlefordian! Wow I'm a loser.

But so far this is my lovely iGoogle page. I guess you could say it is always going to under construction because I love to exploring the neat things you can add, so it will change frequently!http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en# This is the link to my sweeeeeeeet homepage and feel to check 'er out

The Beginning of an Online Adventure!

First class of my computer education class was an experience not soon to be forgotten. It was definetly a new experience for me! I was pretty nervous sitting with the window open watching the timer tick away. I had no idea what to expect, but once things started to get rolling i got used to it! I didn't have a mic which was a bummer, but i will definetly have one next class. Not going to lie, there were times when i had no idea what people were talking about and i tried my best to follow along. It's just a completly different way of thinking and learning for me, but i will get used to it.
I was sick that day and missed my morning class, so it was quite nice to stay in my sweats all day and plop myslef in front on the computer for class! I am looking forward to not leaving my house for class. Although it was annoying when my cat would jump up onto the desk and sit infront of the computer screen.

So I have started this Blog for my ECOMP class. I have never blogged before, so this should be quite intersting. I really don't have any experience with technology, expect for the compulsive use of my cellphone. Obviously I know how to use the wonderful worl wide web, but doing things like setting up blogs and accounts on various websites creates a little challenge for me. I figured out how to successfully set up this amazing new blog and I hope to learn how to use it to its full extent!
